Andrew founded the firm and brings over 20 years of financial, corporate and political communications experience to Greenbrook. He started his career working on political campaigns in both the UK and United States and was formerly a UK Government Special Advisor.
Over the last two decades he has worked on numerous communications campaigns and advised companies including British Airways, Goldman Sachs, RBS and News Corporation. Andrew has developed leading expertise in advising global investment businesses on all areas of communications and risk management.
He is an expert on issues such as exit and investment activity, fundraising, partnership issues, advice to portfolio companies, tax investigations, judicial inquiries, and civil/criminal proceedings. Prior to founding the business in February 2012, Andrew was a member of the Executive Committee at News UK (News International), advising the company following the phone hacking crisis.
David joined Greenbrook as an Advisor in 2014. Until recently, he was Vice Chairman of Knight Vinke, one of Europe’s largest and best known activist investment firms. He now acts as an advisor to a number of entities on shareholder engagement and corporate governance. He holds a variety of non-executive and advisory roles including being a Member of Council at the Institute of Directors as well as being an investor in, and Non-Executive Director of, an unquoted technology company.
Prior to his current roles, David has had a 25-year career in investment banking and financial communications. He spent 16 years at Morgan Stanley in senior posts in equity sales and investment banking in Europe and Asia and was latterly a London-based Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets and Head of Corporate Broking.
David also spent six years at one of London’s leading capital markets communications advisory firms where he advised many of the firm’s most significant relationships on complex capital markets communications. He graduated from Cambridge University, with a degree in Economics.
Michelle Pinggera joined Greenbrook as an Advisor in July 2018.
She has enjoyed a successful 28-year career at Goldman Sachs, where before stepping down last year, she was international chief of staff and head of the executive office for the bank in Europe and Asia-Pacific. She was responsible for managing reputational issues affecting the bank and its brand, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and communicating the bank’s strategy.
Michelle started her Goldman Sachs career in the finance department, before becoming the COO for the Securities Division in Europe. She oversaw a number of bolt-on acquisitions and the development of several new businesses, helping build Goldman’s presence in Russia and the Middle East, and has lived and worked in New York, Frankfurt and Hong Kong as well as London.
Michelle was involved on behalf of Goldman Sachs in the government-backed review of why women are under-represented in the financial services sector. In addition to her City experience, Michelle is a trustee of the Mayors Fund for London, and a trustee of the Princes Trust and the Princes Trust International.
Simon joined Greenbrook as an Advisor in March 2017, bringing extensive knowledge of the financial and private equity sectors. His previous positions have included Communications Secretary to HM Queen Elizabeth II, advisor to former Prime Minister John Major, senior roles at Reuters and British Airways and Chief Executive of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association.
Following five years as the Director General of the Institute of Directors, Simon has been appointed as a senior non-executive in the UK Government’s new Department for International Trade.
Simon was awarded a CBE in the 2017 New Year Honours list.
Gina has experience advising both listed and private companies across a range of sectors, including the alternative investment space, on their financial and corporate communications. She has particular experience in managing the communications strategies for fundraisings, transactions, new listings/fund launches, profile-raising campaigns, reputational issues and crises.
Gina has also had experience in complementary disciplines, including digital marketing and stakeholder communications. Gina graduated from the University of Bristol with an Honours degree in Archaeology and Anthropology in 2013.
Fanni is part of Greenbrook’s associate team and works with a number of private equity and hedge fund clients.
She joined Greenbrook from a financial communications firm where she worked for a number of international clients in the financial services sector. She previously undertook roles at an institution under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in China, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hungary.
Fanni studied International Relations in Budapest and, having received two government scholarships, spent two years studying in China. She is a native Hungarian speaker and has advanced knowledge of Mandarin and Italian.
Alex has significant experience working with clients in asset management and financial services, including hedge funds.
Prior to joining Greenbrook, Alex worked at an integrated marketing and communications agency where he advised a range of investment clients, including a boutique Swiss alternatives manager, China’s largest institutional asset manager, and a London-based activist investor. Alex came to public relations after a successful career as an historian of print media, during which he published a book and wrote articles for academic journals and national broadsheets.
He holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge.
Catriona is a member of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of private equity, hedge fund and private debt clients.
Prior to joining Greenbrook, Catriona completed placements at various art institutions including Christie’s Auction House, where she worked on the research and marketing for upcoming auctions.
Catriona holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Combined Honours in History of Art, Italian, Classics and English from Durham University, as well as a Masters in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, in which she attained a Distinction.
Clare works across a number of Greenbrook’s private equity and hedge fund clients with a particular focus on real estate. She joined the firm from global communications firm FTI Consulting, where she focused on advising real estate, private equity and financial services clients and gained experience of working on IPOs, M&A transactions, proactive profile raising campaigns and issues management.
Prior to this, Clare worked as an investment analyst for a global asset management firm, having graduated in 2012 with an Honours Degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Manchester.
Matthew works with a variety of leading private equity firms and hedge funds, advising them on a range of issues, with a particular focus on capital deployment, M&A, and fundraising. He also has significant expertise in advising on special situations, such as restructurings and activist campaigns.
He joined Greenbrook after a successful journalism career, including 13 years on the business section of The Sunday Times, reporting on industries including private equity, leisure, consumer goods, retail and pharmaceuticals. His other previous reporting roles include four years at the Sunday Business newspaper. Matthew holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Leeds.
John joined Greenbrook in 2015 and advises a wide variety of investment firms, including private equity and credit firms; traditional asset managers; as well as hedge funds and activist investors. He has expertise in profile management and messaging development; M&A communications; supporting fundraisings and new launches; and digital communications.
John also has considerable experience of working on special situations, including prominent activist campaigns, litigation, restructurings, and high-profile investment positions.
Prior to joining Greenbrook, John graduated from BPP Law School with a distinction in his legal practice course, where he specialised in M&A, debt finance and Intellectual property, and also holds a LLB Law Degree from the University of Sussex. During his studies, he founded and ran an online news platform for young professionals.
Samantha was part of the team that founded Greenbrook in January 2012. In her role as Business Manager, Sam oversees the daily corporate operations including; human resources, internal communications, accounts, marketing, events and project management.
Sam previously spent four years at MF Global, a US-based brokerage firm, as an Associate in the Corporate Communications team covering Europe and Asia. In this role, she was responsible for corporate events, internal communications and market commentary.
Sam was also an Assistant to Jon Corzine, former President and CEO of MF Global.
Edward works across a number of Greenbrook’s private equity and hedge fund clients. He has experience advising international investment management firms on a wide variety of matters, including: profile development, messaging, content development, reputation management, internal communications, social media, visual identity, issues management and public affairs.
Edward joined the firm from a global advocacy agency where he worked with investment management and broader financial services clients. Prior to this, he worked for a communications agency specialising in alternative investment management. Edward graduated in 2011 with an Honours Degree in Politics and Philosophy from The University of Exeter.
Alex has considerable experience in corporate, financial and digital communications, with a specialism in the private equity and investment sectors. He has advised on numerous M&A transactions and a variety of special situations and complex issues, including corporate and sovereign debt restructurings, challenging fundraises, and litigation.
Previously, Alex was a Senior Analyst at Preqin, the world’s leading alternative assets research house. He also worked in the Financial and Professional Services practice at Capital MSL, where he advised a wide range of international clients, including traditional and alternative asset managers, family offices, law firms and banks.
He holds an MA in Medieval History from the University of York.
Shaleen is an Executive Assistant, supporting Greenbrook’s Managing Partner, Andrew Honnor. Previously, she worked at tech security company Callsign Inc. as Operations Manager and EA to the CEO. At Callsign, she helped build and retain the team as well as overseeing projects including implementing new systems and event marketing.
Shaleen also has experience in media and professional services, working for both 360 Leaders, the international executive search firm, and the company’s media arm Hot Topics. It was here that she planned and executed a highly successful worldwide event series whilst also providing support to the directors and the CEO.
Shaleen has a BA in Performance Art and Theatre History from Staffordshire University.
Helena joined Greenbrook from the Italian Insider, the oldest English language newspaper in Rome. Prior to this, she has worked for Third Bridge Intelligence, as a copywriter for the G-20Y Summit in Evian, France, and as a journalist for the Women’s Institute for Freedom of the Press in Washington D.C.
Helena graduated from the University of Exeter with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ancient History and was elected to oversee all 250 societies at the University.
She is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working with a number of private equity and hedge fund clients.
James has over 11 years’ experience in corporate and financial communications in both the UK and Middle East. He specialises in advising financial and professional services firms of all sizes on the ongoing management, protection and promotion of their corporate reputation.
James has extensive experience in advising on corporate communications programmes around transactions, firm and fund launches, restructurings, management succession and digital communications, as well as issues management including supply chain breakdown, litigation, fraud and tax investigations.
James has accrued diverse sector experience during his career, advising both listed and private companies from the financial and professional services, telecoms, energy and retail industries. Between 2009 and 2012 James was based in the Middle East (Dubai / Abu Dhabi), advising clients across the GCC region on both their PR and IR activities.
Daniel works across a number of Greenbrook’s private equity and hedge fund clients. He has worked on a broad range of issues and special situations, including international bondholder disputes, complex restructurings and insolvencies, litigation and shareholder activism. He also has experience advising on both private and listed transactions, fundraisings and new fund launches.
Daniel joined Greenbrook from peer-to-peer lender MarketInvoice, where he was responsible for handling media relations and public affairs, including supporting several rounds of venture capital fundraising.
He graduated from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature & Language.
Matthieu has leading experience in all aspects of financial and corporate communications including transactions, fundraising, profile-raising and issues management. He has a particularly strong understanding of investment firms, private equity, portfolio companies and related situations.
He previously worked for private equity firm Permira, where he was a member of the external affairs team with responsibility for communications across Europe, Asia and North America, and global law firm Latham & Watkins, where he looked after UK communications with a specific focus on the private equity, M&A, capital markets and finance practices. He began his career in political communications before joining a financial communications firm, where he advised FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies.
Matthieu is a native French speaker and holds an MPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford.
Rob has leading experience in all aspects of financial communications and reputation management for global investment firms. He joined Greenbrook shortly after the business was founded.
Rob has a particularly strong understanding of the issues relevant to hedge funds and activist investors and has advised on a number of the most high-profile activist campaigns in Europe over the past five years. He advises clients on a broad range of issues including transactions, fundraising and crisis management.
Rob holds a First Class BSc in Business Administration from The University of Bath and a MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from Jesus College, Oxford and was Head of Media for the Oxford Union.
James joined Greenbrook after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with Spanish, during which he spent a year living and studying in Pamplona, Spain.
Prior to graduating, James completed placements at Brunswick Group, DLA Piper, and HSBC. As a keen cyclist, he has also organised and taken part in a number of independent charity cycling events.
James is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of private equity and hedge fund clients.
