Greenbrook is highly experienced in assisting non-listed companies with specific communications issues, including acquisitions, disposals, management change, financial restructurings, recapitalisations and crises. We are often separately mandated by our private equity clients’ portfolio companies and our deep understanding of the ownership structure enables us to offer specialised advice to these businesses.

The Greenbrook team is experienced in managing communications for activist campaigns. These situations require a specialised understanding of the media and shareholder communications. The team are experienced in representing both the activist and the target company.

The team

Andrew Honnor
Managing Partner

Andrew, Greenbrook’s Managing Partner, founded the firm and brings over 20 years of financial, corporate and political communications experience to Greenbrook. He started his career working on political campaigns in both the UK and United States and was formerly a UK Government Special Advisor.

Over the last two decades he has worked on numerous communications campaigns and advised firms including British Airways, Goldman Sachs, RBS and News Corporation. Andrew has developed leading expertise in advising global investment businesses on all areas of communications and risk management.

He is an expert on issues such as exit and investment activity, fundraising, partnership issues, advice to portfolio companies, tax investigations, judicial inquiries, and civil/criminal proceedings. Prior to founding the business in February 2012, Andrew was a member of the Executive Committee at News UK (News International), advising the company following the phone hacking crisis.

Charlotte Balbirnie

Charlotte has over 15 years’ experience in corporate and financial communications. She specialises in advising investment firms, notably hedge funds, activists, private equity firms, credit funds and asset managers.

Charlotte has extensive experience in advising on transactions, fundraisings and asset gathering, firm and fund launches, management succession and digital communications, as well as special situations including litigation, administration processes, regulatory, fraud and tax investigations.

Charlotte’s sector experience is diverse. In her previous roles at M:Communications and Bell Pottinger, she represented numerous FTSE 350 companies across the financial services, mining, retail, luxury goods, property, gaming, energy, renewables and defence sectors on a range of issues including reputation management, crises, IPOs, M&A and rights issues.

David Trenchard

David joined Greenbrook as an Advisor in 2014. Until recently, he was Vice Chairman of Knight Vinke, one of Europe’s largest and best known activist investment firms. He now acts as an adviser to a number of entities on shareholder engagement and corporate governance. He holds a variety of non-executive and advisory roles including being a Member of Council at the Institute of Directors as well as being an investor in, and Non-Executive Director of, an unquoted technology company.


Prior to his current roles, David has had a 25-year career in investment banking and financial communications. He spent 16 years at Morgan Stanley in senior posts in equity sales and investment banking in Europe and Asia and was latterly a London-based Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets and Head of Corporate Broking.

David also spent six years at one of London’s leading capital markets communications advisory firms where he advised many of the firm’s most significant relationships on complex capital markets communications. He graduated from Cambridge University, with a degree in Economics.

Georgiana Brunner

Georgiana brings over 12 years of experience in corporate and financial communications. She specialises in managing reputations for the investment industry and has advised a broad range of firms in the UK and internationally on issues including reputation management, fundraisings and launches, litigation, management succession, transactions and digital communications.

She also has significant crisis communications and issues management experience, handling situations for both b2b and consumer-focused clients over the years.

She previously held a senior role in the communications team at leading private equity firm Apax Partners, where she was responsible for internal and external communications globally.

Prior to this, Georgiana was a Director at PR agency Citigate Dewe Rogerson, advising a broad range of clients from start-ups to multinationals.

Matthew Goodman

Matthew joined Greenbrook after a career as a leading business journalist, where he reported on some of the most significant business issues over the past two decades. Most recently he was a senior correspondent at The Sunday Times, where he spent 13 years reporting on industries including private equity, leisure, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to this, he was part of the launch team of Sunday Business, spending four-years on the dedicated business newspaper, having previously worked in magazines dedicated to the legal profession. He holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of Leeds.


Matthieu Roussellier

Matthieu joined Greenbrook from the leading private equity firm Permira, where he was a member of the External Affairs Team with responsibility for communications across Europe, Asia and North America.

He has strong experience of all aspects of financial and corporate communications including transactions, fundraising, issues management, marketing, digital media and internal communications. Prior to joining Permira, Matthieu worked for a financial communications firm in London.

He started his career in political communications and holds an MPhil in Politics from Oxford University. Matthieu is a native French speaker.

Alex Jones

Alex has considerable experience in corporate, financial and digital communications, with a specialism in the private equity and investment sectors.  He has advised on numerous M&A transactions and a variety of special situations and complex issues, including corporate and sovereign debt restructurings, challenging fundraises, and litigation.

Previously, Alex was a Senior Analyst at Preqin, the world’s leading alternative assets research house. He also worked in the Financial and Professional Services practice at Capital MSL, where he advised a wide range of international clients, including traditional and alternative asset managers, family offices, law firms and banks.

He holds an MA in Medieval History from the University of York.

Robert White

Rob specialises in advising hedge funds and activist investors. He advises on a broad range of issues, including AUM growth strategies, activist investment campaigns, high-profile investment positions, new launches, succession planning, litigation issues and digital communications.


Rob joined Greenbrook shortly after the firm was founded, having graduated from Jesus College, Oxford with an MSc in Evidence-based Social Policy. He was Head of Media and Communications at the Oxford Union.

Rob also holds a First Class BSc in Business Administration from the University of Bath.

Samantha Harris
Business Manager

Samantha was part of the team that founded Greenbrook in January 2012. In her role as Business Manager, Sam oversees the daily corporate operations including; human resources, internal communications, accounts, marketing, events and project management.   

 Sam previously spent four years at MF Global, a US-based brokerage firm, as an Associate in the Corporate Communications team covering Europe and Asia. In this role, she was responsible for corporate events, internal communications and market commentary. 

Sam was also an Assistant to Jon Corzine, former President and CEO of MF Global.

Annabel Clay

Annabel works across a number of Greenbrook’s private equity and hedge fund clients. She joined the firm after three years at one of London’s leading financial communications firms, where she worked with a range of private equity, retail and support services clients.

Prior to that, Annabel completed placements at an international law firm and at a mid-market private equity firm, going on to gain corporate communications experience at the Communication Group.  She graduated from the University of Bristol with an Honours Degree in History in 2012.


Carl Leijonhufvud

Carl works across a number of Greenbrook’s private equity and investment clients, focusing on all aspects of financial and corporate communications.

Prior to joining Greenbrook, Carl completed placements in a wide range of sectors, including investment banking at Morgan Stanley, corporate communications at JKL Group and strategy consulting at Candesic.

Carl graduated from Warwick Business School with an Honours Degree in Management, which included studies at Fudan School of Management in Shanghai. He is a native Swedish speaker with fluency in Norwegian.

John Hamlin

John joined Greenbrook after graduating from BPP Law School with a distinction in his Legal Practice Course, with a focus on M&A, debt finance and Intellectual property. John also holds a LLB Law degree (with honours) from the University of Sussex.

Prior to graduating, John completed placements within the legal teams at Tyco International and MHHP LLP, where he specialised in commercial contracts, commercial property and commercial litigation. John also founded an online news outlet for young professionals in 2014.

John is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of the firm’s private equity and hedge fund clients.

Ryan Smith

Ryan joined Greenbrook after graduating from the University of Durham with an Honours Degree in Politics, with a particular focus on international relations theory and international security.

Prior to joining Greenbrook, Ryan undertook roles in the Mercedes-Benz support team at Allianz Global Assistance and within the charity sector. He also directed a large-scale independent youth project whilst at university.

Ryan is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of private equity and hedge fund clients.

Dhruva Chandramouli

Dhruva joined Greenbrook from Mercer, where he was an analyst in the Investment Consulting division. During his time there he gained experience across investment strategy, in addition to previous placements in equity research and private wealth management. 

Dhruva holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

Dhruva graduated from the University of Warwick with an Honours Degree in Economics, with a focus on monetary policy, corporate finance and behavioural economics.

Dhruva is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of private equity and hedge fund clients.


Alexandre Raicher

Alexandre joined Greenbrook from Doughty Hanson, where he was an analyst in the Investor Relations team. Prior to this, Alexandre gained experience across a number of sectors via placements in private equity, wealth management and strategic consulting firms.


Alexandre holds an MA in Business from Warwick Business School with a major in finance and accounting. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from the European Business School of London.


Alexandre is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of private equity and hedge fund clients. He is a native French speaker with conversational proficiency in Spanish.

Daniel Oliver

Daniel joined Greenbrook from peer-to-peer lender MarketInvoice, where he was a member of the communications team. He joined the fintech start-up from university and was responsible for handling media relations and public affairs, including supporting several rounds of venture capital fundraising.


He graduated from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature & Language. At university he contributed to and edited a student newspaper, and was his college’s representative at the student union body.


Daniel is part of Greenbrook’s associate team, working across a number of the firm’s private equity and hedge fund clients.

Nikolina Mitrović
Executive Assistant

Nikolina is an Executive Assistant, supporting the team and client accounts. Previously, she worked at Oxford University Endowment Management where she was responsible for providing administrative and communications support to the COO and Investment Team.

Nikolina also worked for the University of Oxford’s Development Office supporting the Deputy Director in fundraising and portfolio management internationally. She gained experience in business development and marketing from her time at the economics consultancy firm, Oxera.

Nikolina has a BA in European Media Studies and an MA in European Law & Policy from the University of Portsmouth. She is a native Serbo-Croat speaker with fluency in Greek.

Anna Cole
Executive Assistant

Anna is an Executive Assistant supporting Greenbrook’s Managing Partner, Andrew Honnor. Previously, she worked at investment firm AlphaOne Partners as PA to the chief executive where she was responsible for client management, internal communications, administrative support and day-to-day running of the London office.

Anna also has experience in financial and professional services, working for JLL, where she supported the international director and wider team working on commercial planning and real estate. Prior to this, Anna worked at Hamptons Real Estate.

Anna has a BA in Geography and Sociology from Oxford Brookes University.
